Immediate Increase of friend invitation

The number of limitation to friend invitation was increased to 15 immediately due to good response from users. I didn't imagine that so many users would invite their friends to GazoPa. Thank you for your invitation to your friends. We will increase the number of limitation continuously while watching the situation such as system operation.

New feature ‘Invite your friend’

New feature ‘Invite your friend’ was released. You can invite your friends, colleagues etc up to 5 immediately. Of course, your friends can enter their e-mail address at our website by themselves, but this feature is much faster and easier for them. How many persons do you want to share your feelings? As you may know, people in the world are said to be ‘Six degrees of separation’. Your friends invite their friends and these friend invite their friend,,, In the end, all people in the world will join our service!!!

To share our feeling, either a joy or anger, with other persons is our basic needs, because we live in social. I hope this new tiny feature to help users to satisfy their needs.

We launched our private beta service on Sep10 at TechCrunch50 in San Francisco. Since then, not a few test participants gave us their feedback. The ratio of feedback users is more than 1%. Since I have never compared this figure with those of other websites, I don’t know if it is high or low. But based on research by e frontier, click through rate of Google search Ads is around 2% and that of Yahoo is around 1%. Feedback users not only click our search buttons but also they spent their time for making a comment to us. So, I think our feedback rate is very good.

Honestly, some feedbacks make us very sad, but some encourages us much. One thing I want to emphasize is that we read all feedbacks and are doing our best to improve our service, although sometimes it takes time to solve what feedback mentioned.

GazoPa search for same images?

No, and partially, Yes. GazoPa search for similar images rather than same ones. We think GazoPa is a search engine that can help users to find many kinds of images, so users have many chances to see various kinds of images if similar images are displayed. But if only same image are displayed, such chance is limited. Of course, same images with a key image are also displayed at GazoPa, but it is because those images are regarded as similar images. We focus on similarity of images rather than sameness of images.

We’re receiving many request of invitation every day. But when we send invitation to users in turn, many e-mails are returning due to mis-typing. Since there is still a time lag between user’s request and our sending of invitation, user may think that we are not ready to send them invitations. But actually, our invitation cannot be reached to users even after we become ready. The number of return mail is not just 10, or 100. It’s very regret that users cannot enjoy our service due to mis-typing. So, please double check your e-mail address when you enter it.

Is GazoPa s start-up?

The answer is NO, but partially YES. We’re venture project inside Hitachi, http://www.hitachi.com and are not the company Hitachi invested in. But the spirit of our team is that of start-up. As you may know, Hitachi’s mainstream is in the field of infrastructure such as power plant, train, and also other major field is system integration of big enterprise such as bank, global conglomerate etc. Hitachi is also known as a manufacturer of consumer electronics and plasma TV. But since web service is not a main stream and this field is very new for our company, our team can be regarded as venture project. Our team is full of venture spirit and struggle to survive at outside the company either inside. Also in search field, there is a giant company whose name also starts from ‘G’. Don’t you think all projects in search field can be regarded as challenging one?
